With the Servants of Mary's Prior General

Last Sunday, February 21, 2010 and the first Sunday of Lent, we attended the Annual Meeting of the Congregations of Our Lady of Sorrows of Catalonia which was held in Amer (Girona) on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Founding of the Congregation.

As every year, the gathering was a source of brotherhood and an opportunity to rediscover inner peace, but an exceptional thing also took place: the presence of the Prior General of the Order of the Servants of Mary, friar Ángel M. Ruiz Garnica osm, who came specially from Roma to be with us at the celebration.... with almost total certainty, the first time that a Prior General of the Servite Order has visited Catalan lands in the nearly 800 years of history since the Founding of the Order in Florence !!

The Meeting had unforgettable moments, but without doubt the most important was the  spiritual recollection we enjoyed while the Prior General spoke to us ...and a special recipe for happiness: ask ourselves every day how we can imitate Mary in our journey through life, ask ourselves how we can serve others without expecting anything in return...if we find the answer and apply it to our daily work, we will surely find happiness!!!
